Raymond's

An ongoing photography series

“Raymond’s is my Cafe Lehmitz. For over 12 years this establishment has become as familiar to me as my living room. Raymond's is a local, accessible American bistro. For me it is a cinematic jewel. I spend many a meal with my camera in its timeless ‘visual noir’. When it is usually jammed the noise is the back ground music along side the synchronized choreography of the servers. The beautiful reflections of the 1940's salvaged imperfect mirrors, the subway tiles, and how the sun rays light up the center of the room from the skylight through the tin ceiling is the set for the choreography that takes place. When it is not buzzing with clientele it’s a scene from a French noir spy film. I've organized the series roughly from the front facade entrance to the rear.

P.S. to Raymonds: TY and bring back the poached eggs on grits please!”
